Job Description:

As a Security Guard Armed Mobile Patrol Driver in Elizabeth City, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license and armed credentials. You will deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that acts with integrity.

Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate facility personnel and/or emergency services.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access to restricted areas, verify authorization as directed, and report unusual conditions, policy violations, and suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare accurate incident reports, maintain required activity logs, and communicate relevant information during shift changes and/or as directed by site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
