Job Summary

Monday- Friday2:45-11:15PMSummary Supervises and manages the Environmental Services/Housekeeping program to ensure the hospital environment is maintained in a clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly condition for patients, visitors, and staff.Does this position require Patient Care? NoEssential FunctionsEstablishes standards, policies, and work procedures for housekeeping staff in accordance with hospital guidelines.Develops work schedules and assigns staff to areas and shifts to ensure adequate coverage and service throughout the hospital.Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates housekeeping personnel.Conducts routine inspections of hospital facilities to assess cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency.Recommends repairs, painting, furnishing updates, equipment relocation, and space reallocation to improve sanitation, appearance, and workflow.Identifies and reports unsafe conditions and ensures compliance with safety standards.Researches and evaluates new housekeeping equipment, supplies, and cleaning methods.Prepares budgets, departmental reports, and other administrative documentation.Manages inventory levels of housekeeping supplies and equipment and coordinates the purchase of new or replacement items.Ensures compliance with regulatory, infection prevention, and hospital quality standards.EducationBachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?YesLicenses and CredentialsClass D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic- HR Only preferredExperienceExperience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers 5-7 years preferred and Experience in a supervisory role 2-3 years preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of principles and practices of municipal government administration, operations, and management; methods and techniques of research and report presentation.- Knowledge of State and federally mandated laws, guidelines, and regulations regarding solid waste management.- Ability to analyze and interpret technical and numerical information.- Ability to observe and solve operational and technical problems.- Ability to develop policies and procedures.- Ability to understand and interpret complex rules and procedures; research, analyze, and recommend solutions to administrative and other management problems.- Ability to analyze budgets, reports, and various proposals.- Ability to determine an effective method of research.- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
