    Summary of Job Duties:

    The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) is seeking a student-focused and motivated professional to serve as an Area Coordinator for Residential Curriculum & Student Leadership and join our Residence Life team.

    Located in Monticello, Arkansas, UAM is a public university within the University of Arkansas System.     Position Summary:

    The Area Coordinator for Residential Curriculum & Student Leadership provides leadership and oversight for residential communities while supporting the development of students and student staff.

    The Area Coordinator will supervise Resident Assistants, coordinate residential curriculum and leadership development initiatives, support student conduct and crisis response, and assist with housing operations.

    This position provides hands-on experience in supervision, leadership development, program development, assessment, conflict resolution, crisis management, and housing operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Supervise, train, and develop Resident Assistants and other student staff.

    Coordinate and assess the residential curriculum.

    Develop student leadership and professional development opportunities.

    Plan and support educational, social, and community-building programs.

    Address student concerns, conduct matters, and conflicts.

    Respond to residential emergencies and participate in an on-call rotation.

    Assist with housing operations, occupancy management, opening and closing, and inspections.

    Collaborate with campus departments to support student success.

    Participate in departmental committees, assessment initiatives, and special projects.

    Maintain an active presence within the residential community.


    Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications 

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. 

    • Experience working in Residence Life, Housing, Student Affairs, Student Engagement, or a related area. 

    • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 

    • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty, and campus partners. 

    • Ability to respond effectively to student concerns and residential emergencies. 

    • Valid driver's license. 

    • Ability to work weekends 

    Preferred Qualifications 

    • Professional experience in Residence Life or Housing. 

    • Experience supervising, training, or mentoring student staff. 

    • Experience with residential curriculum or student leadership development. 

    • Experience with student conduct and conflict resolution. 

    • Experience with assessment and program evaluation. 

    • Experience with housing management systems such as StarRez. 

    • Experience responding to crisis situations in a residential setting. 


    Additional Information:

    Compensation Package 

    The Area Coordinator position includes: 

    • $40,000 annual salary 

    • Unlimited campus meal plan valued at approximately $6,000 annually 

    • University-provided apartment housing on campus at no cost 

    Housing and the meal plan are provided as part of the live-in position and are subject to applicable university policies.
