    Classification Minimum Requirements:

    This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through Federal Work-Study.

    • Must maintain a 2.0-grade point average.

    Job Description:
    Work Schedule:
    For Fall 2026. Employment may continue into the Spring 2027 semester if the candidate has Federal Work Study award. The current need is for 10-12 hours a week.
     
    Architecture & Fine Arts Library Regular Hours
    Monday-Thursday: 8 am - 10 pm
    Friday: 8 am to 5 pm
    Sunday: 2 pm – 10 pm
     
    The Architecture and Fine Arts Library is looking for a customer service-oriented student to join our Service Desk team. Responsibilities of the position include:
    • Staffing the Service Desk
    • Searching the UF Library Catalog to determine the location of library materials and if they are available for loan to patrons
    • Loaning and returning of library materials
    • Assisting patrons with Course Reserves, printers, scanners, and workstations and answering basic questions regarding their library accounts and policies
    • Answering telephone calls and providing directional assistance
    • Assisting patrons with general questions and referring them to other staff members when needed
    • Organizing and re-shelving circulating library materials
    • Patrolling the library to collect browsed library materials, and reporting maintenance or technical equipment issues to supervisor
    • Assisting supervisor with collections projects (re-shelving, dusting, organizing, and shifting sections of the collection)
    Expected Salary:

    $15.00 /hr

    Required:

     

    • Registered for Fall 2026 classes at UF
    • Punctual and reliable
    • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
    • Good communication skills and customer-service oriented
    • Must be able to lift 25 lbs and be able to climb flights of stairs
    • Federal Work Study Award for Fall 2026 semester
     
    Preferred:
    • Customer service experience.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work well in a team environment.
