    Architectural Staff IV - Non-Licensed

    Role Description: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for an Architectural Staff at our Houston Downtown office. This role supports Architects, Project Managers and Designers in preparing design and construction drawings, as well as assisting in construction administration for projects. Candidate must possess proven teamwork abilities and a minimum of 15 year's architectural experience producing detailed and well documented construction documents in Revit.

    Reports to: Senior Project Manager

    Employment Type: 40 FT Hours

    Education: Bachelor's in Architecture required

    Duties:

    • Simultaneous work on a minimum of 2-3 projects at various stages of development.
    • Prepares project designs and construction documents using BIM software and equipment.
    • Prepares various documents during the course of the project development including meeting minutes, project specifications, agency applications, etc.
    • Visit project sites under the direction of a supervisor and assist with the documentation of findings, if needed.
    • Research materials, assemblies, or building codes for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings as directed by a supervisor.
    • Coordinate with consultants' models into Revit.
    • Assist in the processing of contractor submittals and RFIs by logging in the documents and routing them to the appropriate party for review.
    • Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondence.
    • Assist or prepare graphic materials for presentations or documents.
    • Select and prepare material finish boards/binders.
    • Assist in attending, recording, and distributing meeting minutes as well as assisting with general project correspondence.
    • Serve as an Assistant Project Manager and/or Task Manager on projects.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's in Architecture required.
    • Experience in architectural design and construction documentation or production experience.
    • Ability to produce redlines and review project documentation for quality assurance.
    • Experience with BIM and related tools such as Revit, Sketch Up, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong problem solving/analysis, and technical capacity to research and apply building codes.
    • Ability to prepare architectural documents and specifications for projects.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Ability to write clearly to communicate technical issues and design ideas.
    • Knowledge of building design and construction means, methods, and techniques.
    • Knowledge of full design and documentation process and ability to manage assigned portions of the process.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Sedentary work that requires prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
    • Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires one to be adaptable to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs
    • The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
