It’s 7:00 a.m. in Ball Ground, GA. You roll open the shop doors, review a set of drawings, and map out your cuts. By mid-morning, you’re shaping hardwoods and plastics to exacting specs. After lunch, you’re on-site installing beautifully crafted fixtures, double-checking code requirements, and collaborating with other trades to deliver a seamless finish. Before you head out, you sharpen blades, tune up tools, and touch base with a client about their next idea. That’s a day in the life of our Architectural Millwork Carpenter.
What You’ll Do
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials per specifications.
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures built from multiple materials.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine project needs.
- Ensure all work aligns with building codes and safety regulations.
- Work closely with other tradespeople and teammates to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain tools and equipment to keep them in peak condition.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly with clients.
What You Bring
- Proven experience as a carpenter or in a closely related role.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Comfort with hand and power tools used in carpentry.
- Sharp problem-solving, precision, and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina, including the ability to lift heavy materials.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
