    Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced, strategic, and technically fluent Analyst Relations (AR) Manager to lead its AI Governance AR program. This Principal-level (L7) role will develop, manage, and execute the global AR strategy for AI governance - encompassing responsible AI, AI safety, model risk management, AI transparency, regulatory compliance, and trustworthy AI frameworks - one of the most consequential and rapidly evolving domains in enterprise technology.

As AI adoption accelerates across every industry, enterprises and governments are grappling with how to deploy AI responsibly at scale. Questions around model explainability, bias detection, audit trails, regulatory compliance (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001), and organizational governance frameworks are top of mind for every CIO, CISO, and Chief AI Officer. Thousands of analysts worldwide are advising their clients on how to evaluate, implement, and govern AI systems responsibly. This role will serve as the strategic architect of how the analyst community perceives and positions AWS's AI governance capabilities - from Amazon Bedrock Guardrails and SageMaker Model Monitor to AWS's broader responsible AI principles and tooling.

The ideal candidate possesses deep analyst relations experience combined with substantive knowledge of AI governance frameworks, responsible AI practices, model lifecycle management, and the evolving global regulatory landscape for AI. They must have a track record of operating with complete independence, influencing VP-level and senior leadership, and driving significantly complex multi-year initiatives with broad cross-organizational impact. They will develop evidence-based strategies to shape how analysts evaluate AWS's AI governance posture, synthesize competitive intelligence from multiple firms and research sources, and align cross-functional teams - spanning product, policy, legal, engineering, and marketing - toward coherent AI governance positioning. This person thrives in ambiguity, drives clarity where none exists, and builds scalable mechanisms that others adopt.

This position is full-time and will be located in an Amazon/AWS corporate office in Seattle, WA or San Francisco/Bay Area, CA.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
