AR/AP Accounting Specialist (Onsite – Charlottesville, VA)Location: Charlottesville, VA

About the Role:
We’re looking for an
AR/AP Accounting Specialist to handle daily accounting tasks, support both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, and help manage extra workload as the team transitions from older processes to newer ones. This role is onsite and requires someone who is organized, detail oriented, and comfortable learning how things were done before and applying those practices to the current system.
Key Responsibilities:Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Apply customer payments
- Fix unapplied payments, short pays, and mismatches
- Help keep customer accounts accurate
- Support AR month-end tasks
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Enter invoices into the system
- Validate invoice details
- Assist with vendor reconciliations
- Scan and upload check runs into the database
- Shadow current AP processes and help with extra workload
General Accounting Support
- Basic reconciliations
- Help with month-end schedules
- Assist with audits and special tasks
- Maintain clean and accurate financial records
Systems & Process Learning
- Learn how the sister company did AP/AR
- Help apply those processes into the current workflow
- Work in Intuitive and Epicor (training provided)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Accounting, Finance, or related field)
- 2+ years of experience in AP, AR, or general accounting
- Experience with ERP systems (Epicor a plus)
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable learning new processes and adapting to changes
Nice to Have
- Experience fixing unapplied payments
- Experience in manufacturing or medical devices
- Basic process documentation (SOPs, workflow notes)
