If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Aquatics Coordinator at our Downtown Y! This full-time position requires evening and weekend availability and comes with great benefits!

As an Aquatics Coordinator, you will assist the Aquatics Director in overseeing and providing leadership to the aquatics department, including lifeguarding, swim lessons, pool maintenance and aquatics programming.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing member-focused aquatics programs
  • Supervise pool facilities and staff, prioritizing safety
  • Build authentic relationships with members and help them connect with each other
  • Enforce water safety rules, perform rescues, and provide first aid as needed
  • Assist with scheduling and scheduling and coordination of lifeguard training and certifications
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends
  • Other duties as assigned by the aquatics director

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have or have ability to obtain within 6 months: Lifeguard Instructor certification and Swim Instructor certification
  • Must be certified in CPR, AED, Oxygen, first aid, and lifeguard
  • Pool operator certification preferred; Ability to obtain upon hire required.
  • Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to lift, stoop, bend, and perform necessary physical activities
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
