Aquatic Centers Operations Technician

Position: Maintenance Assignment: Aquatic Centers Operations Technician Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Director of Facility Services Pay Grade: AX590/260 days Dept./School: Facility Services Date Revised: Spring 2024 Primary Purpose: Provide a safe and secure learning environment though proper care of existing facilities, including repairs and preventive maintenance activity. Qualifications: Minimum Education/Certification: High School Diploma/GED Certified Pool Operator certification as issued by the National Swimming Pool Foundation or ability to attain one within 3months of employment. Valid Texas Driver License Driving record that meets the requirements of the district's insurance carrier. Special Knowledge/Skills/Experience: Preferred 2 years' experience as a pool technician. Preferred 2 years' experience in maintaining large pool mechanical systems 2 years' experience in commercial building maintenance. Proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting pool equipment, maintenance, pool water quality, indoor aquatic facility air quality, and aquatic facility maintenance. Effective planning and organizational skills. Ability to adapt self and others to a changing work environment. Possess a positive attitude Major Responsibilities and Duties: Maintain pool water quality, indoor air quality, equipment checks, and facility maintenance checks. Communicate with and respond to the maintenance zone manager and administrators regarding any, and all developments and or questions that pertain to the aquatic centers. Complete maintenance work orders at aquatic facilities Make recommendations to replace equipment. Perform any other duties assigned by the Board or appropriate administrator. Able to lift 50lbs. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Swimming pool equipment; office equipment and tools; hand and power tools, as needed for maintenance; personal computer Frequent bending, pushing/pulling (at least 50 pounds) Frequent reaching, climbing, lifting, and walking Heavy lifting and carrying (at least 50 pounds) OTHER: All employees are to follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
