The Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) is seeking a professional who is excited to be a part of one of the most highly regarded park systems in the country. With more than 25,000 acres of parkland, nine Rec Centers, eight golf courses, three lakefront parks, and more, FCPA is an exciting organization to be a part of and there are many opportunities for staff to make a difference at every level.
This position oversees daily aquatic operations and supports programming at an assigned Rec Center facility. Key responsibilities include conducting facility and equipment safety inspections, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing emergency responses. Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates lifeguards, volunteers, and instructional support staff. Additionally, this role manages lifeguard scheduling, certification, ongoing in-service training and staff development. Administrative duties include tracking inventory, preparing reports, submitting purchase requests, and delivering community presentations. The position also serves as a facility duty manager and requires a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Dexterity to operate personal computer and climb ladders, stoop, etc. Ability to lift 50 pounds to 80 pounds with assistance. All duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
