Data Analytics Scrum Master
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Analytics Scrum Master to facilitate and optimize Agile processes for our data and analytics teams. The ideal candidate will guide data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders through complex data initiatives, ensuring efficient delivery of cutting-edge data solutions. Operating as a critical partner to technical teams and business stakeholders-including roles like those detailed in the "Senior Business Systems Analyst.docx" file-you will champion Agile methodologies and support data-informed decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Facilitation & Leadership:
- Lead and facilitate core Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives specifically tailored for data warehousing and analytics squads.
- Act as a servant-leader by identifying and removing impediments that hinder the delivery of enterprise data platforms and BI solutions.
Backlog Management & Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Data Architects, and Senior Business Systems Analysts to ensure the product backlog is refined, prioritized, and aligned with high-level business goals.
- Assist in breaking down complex data integration (ETL/ELT) requirements and functional specifications into clear, actionable user stories.
Delivery & Continuous Improvement:
- Track Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, sprint burndown) to monitor delivery progress and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the data team.
- Ensure that the team's output meets established data governance and quality standards.
Coaching & Mentorship:
- Coach cross-functional team members on Agile principles, adapting standard practices to accommodate the unique lifecycles of advanced data analysis and machine learning projects.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 12+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, with a strong focus on Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, and advanced analytics projects.
Agile & Technical Proficiency:
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
- Strong knowledge of Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies.
- Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with Data Warehouse/Data Lake concepts, cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and BI tools to effectively communicate with the development team.
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and analytical concepts to diverse audiences, from developers to C-level executives.
- Demonstrated experience in senior-level stakeholder management and conflict resolution.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to drive consensus and organizational change
