    PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under the direct supervision of the campus-based evaluation staff and the speech language pathologist, the clerk will provide reception and clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the campus special education department.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Certification/Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
    • Special Knowledge/ Skills:
    • Proficiency in typing and word processing.
    • Working knowledge of basic office procedures.
    • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and in a positive manner.
    • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
    • Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to use personal computer and software for spreadsheets, databases, word processing and electronically invite/schedule meetings.
    • Bilingual preferred.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    1. Assist campus-based evaluation staff which includes the speech pathologist in office management duties.
    2. Assist in maintaining an efficient and positive work environment.
    3. Assist campus-based evaluation staff which includes the speech pathologist in maintaining federal, state and local regulations and timelines by monitoring reports generated from district software system.
    4. ARD Meeting responsibilities:

      • Maintain monthly calendar for upcoming ARDs and staff meetings.
      • Schedule ARD meetings for campus-based evaluation staff which includes the speech pathologist.
      • Assist in preparing materials for all ARD meetings.
      • Work collaboratively with campus-based evaluation staff which includes the speech pathologist to ensure the required/necessary participants are invited to ARD meetings.
      • Scan, upload and mail ARD documents to teachers and parents updated 08.03.23.

      • Maintain records, files, and other required documents on special education students.
      • File and maintain documents in the audit folder and special education software system immediately after the ARD is completed and activated.
      • Assist speech pathologist in preparing instructional materials as needed.
      • Communicate to district office any requests for records.
      • Interpret ARDs and phone calls, as necessary.
      • Maintain confidentiality.
      • Perform other duties as determined by the campus-based evaluation staff, speech pathologist or principal.
