Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Structural R&D Engineer for a leading wood products manufacturer's new R&D team, which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in structural analysis, code compliance, and testing looking to further their career in engineered wood and building products.

•      Develop structural and building envelope product solutions using hand calculations, Excel, and engineering analysis

•      Apply IBC, IRC, NDS, and ASCE codes and standards to support code compliance and approvals

•      Design test plans, oversee structural testing, and turn data into product recommendations

•      Partner with engineers, wood scientists, and production teams to take products from concept to pilot

Essential Qualifications

•      Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field) and a PE license from any state

•      5+ years of engineering experience, ideally civil/structural or manufacturing

•      Strong knowledge of North American building codes and structural design; wood design, engineered wood, or building materials experience

Bonus Qualifications

•      Background in Wood Science

•      Non-residential civil/structural or private consulting experience
