Applied AI Engineer

About the Role
This is an opportunity to join an early-stage, high-impact AI startup in healthcare. You’ll work on real production use cases of LLMs and ML techniques to solve business problems, drive zero-to-one AI product development, and deliver solutions that directly impact patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

What You Will Do

• Build & Ship AI Solutions – Develop production-ready AI applications for document classification, data extraction, predictive workflows, and agent-based automation.

• End-to-End Ownership – Lead projects from scoping to deployment, ensuring measurable impact on business and user outcomes.

• AI-First Product Development – Integrate, fine-tune, and evaluate LLMs and other ML models for practical applications.

• Customer-Facing Engineering – Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand requirements and deliver intuitive AI-powered workflows.

• Scalability & Efficiency – Design pipelines, state machines, and automation systems for high-volume, complex processes.

What Will You Bring

• 3+ years of experience in applied AI, ML engineering, or software engineering with a focus on AI/ML applications.

• Strong Python skills; experience with React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes preferred.

• Ability to operate independently in a high-autonomy environment.

• Strong product and business intuition with an ability to translate complex AI solutions into impactful products.

• Passion for healthcare, AI, and creating meaningful outcomes through technology.

Compensation & Perks

• Salary: $150k - $225k

• Equity: competitive
