    Description

    Overview

    Nesco Resource is collaborating with a leading manufacturing equipment company to find a dynamic leader for their Applications Engineering team. This role is pivotal in guiding a team of engineers, managing intricate customer projects, and influencing the development of cutting-edge equipment and processes in the medical device manufacturing sector. Reporting directly to the VP of Technology, this position combines technical leadership with team development and direct customer interaction.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead and develop a team of Applications Engineers in tooling, process development, custom engineering solutions, and technical support.
    • Oversee customer projects from initial concept through to implementation and customer acceptance.
    • Collaborate directly with customers to address and solve manufacturing challenges.
    • Provide technical guidance on tooling design, process development, validation, and product enhancements.
    • Work in partnership with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, Service, and Program Management teams to execute projects successfully.
    • Enhance engineering practices, technical standards, and processes.
    • Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent within the organization.
    • Participate in customer meetings, executive discussions, and technical presentations.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
    • A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience.
    • At least 5 years of experience in leading engineering teams, technical programs, or customer-focused engineering organizations.
    • Strong background in tooling design, process development, customer validation, manufacturing equipment, and technical problem-solving.
    • Proven experience in managing complex customer projects and initiatives across various departments.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and customer relationship skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in medical device manufacturing equipment or regulated manufacturing environments.
    • Background in Applications Engineering, Product Development, Tooling Engineering, or Sustaining Engineering.
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices.
