    Applications Engineer - FEA - MN - June25

    We are looking for am experienced Senior Applications Engineer to join our clients dynamic team in Minnesota. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in using FEA software, a deep understanding of machining, a passion for innovation, and a proven ability to solve complex problems. This role combines responsibilities for managing the product development lifecycle and providing expert guidance on FEA applications.

    FEA Applications Engineering:

    • Lead the creation of FEA DOE analyses across internal teams and utilize statistical methods to minimize the size and length of the analyses needed to reach definitive conclusions.
    • Provide expert guidance and support to internal teams on FEA applications and best practices. Employ PDSA cycles where necessary.
    • Prepare and present technical reports, research papers, and documentation on topics such as distortion, deflection, workpiece clamping, and work holding.
    • Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and curiosity.
    • Assist with technical demonstrations for both customers and internal teams.
    • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in FEA technology and industry trends.
    • Provide support on commercial projects and customer inquiries as needed.

    Requirements

    • Possess a master's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
    • Be proficient in using one or more FEA software tools
    • Have a good level of machining knowledge, including a fundamental understanding of milling, turning, work holding, part distortion and deflection, etc.
    • Exhibit familiarity with the automotive or aerospace markets.
    • Work experience in the manufacturing and/or machining fields is a major plus.
    • A history in working with the agile scrum process is a plus.
    • Previous exposure to the manufacturing industry is a plus.
