The Application Validation Analyst is responsible for ensuring enterprise applications meet defined business, functional, and quality standards prior to release and throughout their lifecycle. This role focuses on validating application functionality through structured testing, detailed test planning, and defect management to ensure systems are reliable, accurate, and aligned with business requirements.
The analyst works closely with business stakeholders, application support teams, and development partners to identify issues early, reduce risk, and improve overall application quality.
Partner with business stakeholders to understand application requirements and expected outcomes
Develop and maintain detailed test plans aligned with business and functional requirements
Create and execute test cases mapped to business use cases and workflows
Perform functional testing, regression testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Configure and maintain test environments and test data for validation activities
Execute test cycles and clearly document results and findings
Log, track, and manage defects through resolution
Validate fixes and enhancements prior to production deployment
Collaborate with application support, development, and vendor teams to resolve issues
Maintain testing documentation, validation evidence, and test artifacts
Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing standards, processes, and tools
Assist in developing or enhancing testing frameworks and validation suites
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience in application validation, software testing, or quality assurance
Experience developing test plans, test cases, and executing structured testing cycles
Strong understanding of the application development and lifecycle management process
Ability to translate business requirements into testable scenarios
Experience logging, tracking, and validating defect resolution
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and attention-to-detail skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Experience supporting enterprise or SaaS-based applications
Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools
ITIL 4 certification (preferred)
Experience coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders
Exposure to automated testing tools or scripting frameworks
Prior experience working in an enterprise or regulated environment
Quality-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
Structured, methodical approach to validation and testing
Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business teams
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple testing efforts
Clear and effective documentation and communication skills
