Akkodis is seeking an Application Support Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting IBM WebSphere MQ environments, enterprise middleware platforms, and business-critical applications, along with expertise in troubleshooting, production support, and operational stability.

Rate Range: $53/hour to $65/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Application Support Engineer Job Responsibilities Include:

• Provide advanced application and middleware support for IBM WebSphere MQ environments by troubleshooting incidents, resolving production issues, and ensuring system stability.

• Analyze complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions that improve application reliability and business continuity.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, development, security, and business teams to support seamless integration and operation of enterprise business systems.

• Develop a deep understanding of application architecture, messaging frameworks, and system dependencies in order to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing support processes, operational procedures, monitoring capabilities, and knowledge management practices.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members by sharing best practices, troubleshooting methodologies, and operational expertise.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• A minimum of seven to ten years of experience supporting enterprise middleware platforms, application support environments, or distributed business systems.

• Strong hands-on experience administering, supporting, and troubleshooting IBM WebSphere MQ in enterprise environments.

• Demonstrated ability to investigate production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.

• Strong understanding of application integration concepts, messaging technologies, middleware architecture, and enterprise support processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting production environments and mission-critical business applications within large enterprise organizations.

• Knowledge of application support best practices, including incident management, problem management, change management, and operational governance.

• Experience working with enterprise integration platforms, middleware technologies, and distributed application architectures.

• Familiarity with performance monitoring, system health analysis, capacity planning, and operational reporting processes.

Pay Details: $53.00 to $65.00 per hour
