Application Support Analyst (Security Focus)
Location: New York, NY
Pay Rate: $70/hour
Overview
We are seeking a mid-level Security Support Analyst to join the Data Security team and play a critical role in remediating an Internal Audit finding related to unstructured data and access entitlements.
This position combines data security, access governance, and application support, requiring a proactive professional who can collaborate with stakeholders, enforce controls, and ensure the integrity and security of enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and remediate access packages for folders and directories using tools such as Varonis Data Privilege and Microsoft Entra ID
- Ensure proper data classification, ownership, and approval workflows for access entitlements
- Partner with business users to review and validate access rights, ensuring compliance with internal policies
- Support remediation efforts tied to Internal Audit findings and implement sustainable controls
- Provide technical support for enterprise applications to maintain business continuity
- Troubleshoot application and access-related issues, manage incidents, and resolve service requests
- Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and monitoring
- Document processes, controls, and remediation activities clearly and accurately
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in application support, security operations, or a related field
- Strong understanding of data security and access governance concepts
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Varonis, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Entra ID
- Familiarity with ITIL framework (incident, problem, and change management)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working in regulated environments or with audit/compliance remediation efforts is a plus
