Application Support Analyst  – Financial Systems 

Remote – Texas (Central Time Zone Preferred)

Contract-to-Hire | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST

We're looking for an experienced IT Applications Analyst to support business-critical financial applications in a collaborative Agile environment. This is a highly visible role that serves as the bridge between business users and technology, helping ensure financial systems remain stable, efficient, and well-supported.

This position is fully remote; however, candidates must reside in the Central Time Zone and be available during standard business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST).

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide production application support for business-critical financial systems, ensuring timely issue resolution and minimal business disruption.
• Write complex SQL queries to research issues, validate data, troubleshoot production problems, and support reporting requests. (Strong SQL query writing is essential.)
• Support financial business processes including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and related accounting workflows.
• Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and work with technical teams to resolve system and data-related problems.
• Partner closely with Accounting, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate issues, and deliver effective solutions.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, and backlog items for development teams.
• Develop and execute test plans for system enhancements, releases, and production fixes.
• Analyze application data to identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Support application configuration, release validation, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Create and maintain system documentation, support materials, and end-user training documentation.

What We're Looking For

• Strong SQL query writing skills with the ability to independently troubleshoot production issues.
• Experience providing production application support for enterprise business applications.
• Experience supporting financial systems and accounting workflows, including GL, AP, and AR.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding cross-functional communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Finance, Accounting, IT, developers, and business users.
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data analysis.
• Experience working within Agile or Scrum development environments.
• Ability to prioritize multiple production issues while maintaining exceptional customer service.

Preferred Experience

• Financial systems such as ERP, Procurement, Revenue, Treasury, or Tax applications.
• API integrations and system-to-system data exchanges.
• Experience supporting enterprise application releases and production deployments.
• Experience creating test plans and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
