Salary Range: $75.00-$85.00 per hour on W2

Seeking a Senior Application Solution Architect to lead large-scale application modernization, Azure cloud transformation, and database modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong Java architecture experience and expertise in Azure, microservices, cloud-native solutions, and legacy application/data modernization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of legacy, monolithic, and distributed applications.
• Define Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Rearchitect, and Rebuild strategies.
• Design scalable cloud-native architectures using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, and DDD.
• Develop target-state architectures, modernization roadmaps, and technical governance.
• Design Azure solutions using AKS, App Services, Functions, API Management, Service Bus/Event Hub, Key Vault, Storage, and Azure Monitor.
• Lead on-premises to Azure migration and ensure alignment with Azure Well-Architected Framework.
• Drive database modernization and migration involving SQL Server, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Cosmos DB, and NoSQL.
• Define database migration, data reconciliation, integration, and performance optimization strategies.
• Establish CI/CD, DevSecOps, Terraform/Bicep, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions practices.
• Ensure security, compliance, high availability, disaster recovery, observability, and operational excellence.
• Partner with executives, product owners, enterprise architects, and technical teams to translate business requirements into solution architectures.
• Present architecture options, risks, trade-offs, and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Mentor architects, technical leads, and development teams.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of overall IT experience.
• 8+ years in Solution Architecture.
• 10+ years of Java application development/architecture.
• Strong Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, REST APIs, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, and DDD experience.
• Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• Hands-on Azure Architecture, AKS, Networking, Security/IAM, Integration Services, Monitoring, Storage, and Compute.
• Strong database experience with SQL Server, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Cosmos DB, and NoSQL.
• Experience with large-scale application and database modernization/migration programs.
• Experience with legacy/mainframe/monolith modernization, platform engineering, integration architecture, and enterprise solution design.

Preferred

• BFSI, Insurance, Wealth Management, or Financial Services experience.
• Experience leading large-scale modernization programs.
• AI-assisted software engineering or modernization experience.
• Architecture governance and executive steering committee experience.
• Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, CKA/CKAD, or TOGAF.
