Role Summary
The Application Manager (AM) for PTC Windchill owns the end-to-end success of the
Infra PLM platform at client. This role is responsible for driving Windchill configuration
and operational excellence across both PLM (item/BOM/change control) and
CAD/PDM collaboration (workspaces, check-in/out, CAD documents). The AM
partners with cross-functional engineering/oncall teams, security/privacy/compliance,
and PTC/vendor support to deliver a reliable, scalable, and compliant system that
enables infrastructure product development and supply chain execution.
Responsibilities
Product & process ownership (PLM + PDM)
Own Windchill functional outcomes across Infra PLM use cases:
Item/part master data, BOM governance, lifecycle states, and change control
workflows (ECR/ECO).
CAD/PDM collaboration workflows: workspaces, check-in/check-out, versioning,
and document governance.
Run intake and prioritization for enhancements/defects; translate requirements
into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
Define and track success metrics (adoption, cycle-time improvements, stability,
backlog health) and use insights to drive roadmap improvements.
Delivery execution and cross-functional coordination
Deliver multiple small projects or a medium-sized project; coordinate a small
cross-functional working group when needed.
Lead UAT planning and readiness, ensure go/no-go decisions and rollout
communications.
Operations, incidents, and vendor escalation
Serve as the escalation point for production issues; drive triage, root-cause
analysis, and stakeholder communications.
Partner directly with PTC/vendor support for escalations; ensure high-quality
case submissions and tracking to resolution.
Maintain durable runbooks, knowledge base content, and training/enablement
materials.
Governance, access, and compliance
Own Windchill role model (RBAC) and access governance processes
(provisioning/deprovisioning, least privilege).
Design and implement controls for the application and ensure required
control activities/evidence are completed by policy.
Hands-on technical operations (if in scope for this req)
Support environment operations (DEV/TEST/PROD): release coordination,
configuration drift checks, basic health checks, and upgrade readiness.
Partner with engineering owners on upgrades/patching, monitoring/alerting, and
operational tooling.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience owning or operating a vendor enterprise application end-to-end
(PLM/ERP/SCM/PDM preferred), including configuration, UAT, rollout, and
production support.
Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills (log-based debugging
mindset, RCA, stakeholder comms).
Experience working directly with vendors on escalations and support
management.
Familiarity with access to governance concepts (RBAC, SSO fundamentals) and
compliance/controls expectations for enterprise systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience with PTC Windchill PDMLink (change management,
lifecycles, workflows, attributes, templates).
CAD/PDM experience (Creo + Windchill workspaces, check-in/out patterns,
multi-user collaboration).
Experience supporting production systems across multiple environments and
driving upgrade/release discipline.
Experience defining KPIs/metrics and using data to improve operations and
roadmap outcomes.
