Broadband Planning & Design Engineer
Location: Houston, TX 8590
Work Arrangement: Onsite 4 days in office
Schedule: Monday Friday, 6:00 AM 3:00 PM CST
Pay Rate: $36.00/hr. on W2
Position Summary
Support the planning, design, and coordination of broadband communication systems. Work with project and network planning teams to develop designs, manage construction jobs, and ensure projects have the required documentation to proceed.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and design broadband, fiber, and/or coax networks.
Coordinate construction activities and project requirements.
Perform point-to-point (P2P) network design and wavelength reservations.
Review project documentation and identify missing information.
Analyze nearby projects for construction efficiencies.
Maintain system maps, diagrams, design files, spreadsheets, and engineering records.
Use GIS, mapping, and engineering design tools.
Coordinate with internal teams to resolve technical and documentation issues.
Track project progress and ensure deadlines are met.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
2 5 years of experience in telecommunications, broadband, GIS, network planning, engineering, or construction coordination.
Knowledge of fiber/coax networks and telecommunications infrastructure.
Experience with GIS, system maps, engineering documentation, and Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work flexible schedules, including overtime when needed.
