Role Description / Responsibilities

This is a high-priority Application Developer role responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting Java-based custom applications and web services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design and build Java-based custom development solutions.
• Review functional specifications and translate them into detailed technical designs.
• Develop Java-based web services based on approved technical designs.
• Estimate effort for new functionality, enhancements, and application changes.
• Develop and execute unit tests for application components.
• Report project status, progress, issues, and dependencies.
• Track project risks and develop/monitor mitigation plans.
• Assess the impact of software changes throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Provide technical recommendations related to application enhancements and changes.
• Support batch processing using the Spring Batch framework.
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams to ensure successful implementation of application requirements.
• Follow established development, testing, deployment, and SDLC standards.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Java development.
• 3+ years of Java programming experience.
• 3+ years of JavaScript experience.
• 3+ years of PostgreSQL experience.
• 3+ years of Angular experience.
• 3+ years of Linux experience.
• Strong experience with technical design, application development, testing, and SDLC processes.
• Experience developing Java-based web services.
• Experience creating and executing unit tests.

Preferred Qualifications

• CMS experience preferred.
• Experience with Spring / Spring Batch.
• Experience with JavaScript MVC.
• Experience with Maven.
• Experience with Everware MDA.
• Experience with MarkLogic.
• Experience with XML.
• Experience with Red Hat Linux / Linux Red Hat suite.
• Experience with Alfresco.

• Experience working in federal healthcare or other large-scale enterprise environments.
