Introduction
This role is responsible for engineering the virtualization layer of the Internal Cloud Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) stack. The position focuses on enabling standardized, production-grade hosting for Internal Cloud workload types, including virtual machines, grid compute, and container platforms, on top of the HCI foundation. The role requires ensuring the virtualization layer meets enterprise requirements for availability, performance, resiliency, and operability while integrating seamlessly with the broader HCI stack components built through automation.
Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered)
- 4–5 years of experience engineering or operating enterprise virtualization platforms in production environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux workloads and infrastructure troubleshooting in virtualized environments.
- Familiarity with virtualization concepts and hyperconverged infrastructure fundamentals (compute/virtualization/storage interaction).
- Experience supporting virtualization lifecycle activities such as upgrades, patching, stability/performance triage, and production change processes.
- Prior work experience at client or in client's industry.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Nice-to-have skills but are not required)
- 5–7 years supporting virtualization platforms at enterprise scale.
- Experience operating virtualization platforms that support multiple workload domains (VMs, container platforms, grid/batch).
- Certification (e.g., VCP) or equivalent training/experience.
- Experience working in regulated environments with formal operational readiness, change control, and release governance expectations.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities (key tasks and expectations for the role)
- Owns virtualization engineering patterns, platform configurations, and operational standards for the Internal Cloud environment.
- Engineering and maintaining the virtualization platform layer referenced in the Internal Cloud HCI stack.
- Supporting lifecycle changes and upgrades, validating performance/resiliency behavior of the virtualization layer.
- Partnering with automation and platform teams to ensure consistent delivery of virtualization capabilities as part of the layered, automation-driven HCI build model.
