Description:
This is a versatile IT Analyst position that performs work related to application release management, production support, delivery, or a combination of these functions. Workers at this level solve complex coordination and delivery problems, manage assigned work, provide direction to participating teams, and demonstrate leadership within their areas of specialization, with minimal supervision and increased latitude for unreviewed work.

In the Release Management role, coordinates release readiness, deployment planning, implementation activities, communications, technical and functional checkout tracking, go/no-go decision support, issue escalation, and post-release follow-up for Enterprise Asset Management applications and related IT solutions. Supports major releases, sprint releases, emergency releases, maintenance activities, and off-cycle deployments across application, mobility, integration, analytics, GIS, design tools, environment management, application maintenance, business support, and Change Management teams.
  • Develops and maintains release plans, deployment timelines, milestone schedules, readiness checkpoints, contact lists, communication schedules, go/no-go materials, status trackers, risk registers, and action-item logs. Ensures release artifacts are accurate, current, and available to the teams responsible for planning, approving, implementing, testing, and supporting assigned releases.
  • Coordinates release planning discussions, status meetings, pre-job briefings, readiness reviews, deployment activities, and post-release follow-up sessions. Collects and consolidates updates from application leads, technical teams, environment teams, test coordinators, business support organizations, vendors, and other release participants. Tracks dependencies, open issues, blockers, risks, decisions, and outstanding actions through completion.
  • Supports implementation-window coordination, including evening and weekend deployment activities when required. Monitors implementation progress, maintains release status channels, communicates changes to the release schedule, and escalates issues that may affect implementation success, system availability, testing completion, or the planned return of systems to users. Provides dependable backup coverage for critical release management activities during planned absences, competing priorities, or concurrent release events.
  • Prepares clear, concise, and timely communications for technical teams, business partners, IT management, leadership, application users, and Change Management. Communications may include readiness updates, deployment notices, implementation status reports, technical checkout updates, functional checkout updates, issue notifications, decision requests, final release summaries, and all-clear notifications. Presents technically complex release information in an understandable manner in both oral and written form and recognizes when communication or escalation is required.
  • Tracks technical checkout and functional checkout readiness by collecting validation results from technical leads, testing teams, application support teams, and business representatives. Identifies incomplete validation activities, unresolved defects, unavailable resources, and other conditions that could affect release decisions. Supports the preparation of accurate information for go/no-go discussions and leadership decision points.
  • Partners with application support, delivery, infrastructure, database, environment, vendor, testing, business, and Change Management teams to coordinate deployment sequencing and release dependencies. Works effectively with stakeholders having different priorities, responsibilities, and technical perspectives. Facilitates alignment and maintains focus on release milestones, implementation safety, communication expectations, and successful service restoration.
  • Assists with Change Requests, Quality Assurance documentation, implementation plans, validation evidence, and other records required for release execution and process compliance. Promotes adherence to established Change Management, release management, testing, documentation, source control, and Human Performance requirements. Ensures appropriate approvals, readiness information, and implementation documentation are available before key release decision points.
  • Responds to release-related production issues and assists with coordination during critical incidents, System Disruption Events, failed implementations, deployment exceptions, and other major events. Works with senior resources, technical teams, vendors, and support organizations to gather facts, communicate status, identify recovery actions, and escalate decisions within the appropriate Service Level Agreement.
  • Documents release risks, blockers, lessons learned, process gaps, improvement opportunities, and follow-up actions after each release. Supports retrospectives and recommends improvements to communication practices, release artifacts, readiness checkpoints, deployment coordination, testing validation, and issue escalation. Helps establish repeatable release management practices that improve continuity, execution discipline, and organizational readiness.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 4 years of related business or information technology experience.
  • Work experience in addition to degree: 1 to 3 years of experience as an IT Application Analyst, Release Analyst, Release Coordinator, Project Coordinator, Change Management Analyst, or equivalent.

Job-specific knowledge, skills, or abilities:
  • Experience coordinating application releases, deployments, implementation activities, or production changes.
  • Experience developing and maintaining release plans, implementation schedules, readiness trackers, status reports, risk logs, and action-item trackers.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience coordinating work across application, infrastructure, database, environment, testing, vendor, and business teams.
  • Working knowledge of Change Management, incident management, application support, testing, and production implementation practices.
  • Ability to track multiple workstreams, dependencies, risks, decisions, and milestones simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to technical teams, business partners, users, IT management, and leadership.
  • Ability to work effectively with limited direction while exercising sound judgment regarding communication, escalation, and release readiness.
  • Ability to support implementation activities outside normal business hours, including evening and weekend release windows, when required.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, identify release risks, facilitate decisions, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Strong written, verbal, facilitation, documentation, and leadership communication skills.
  • Experience with Enterprise Standards, process adherence, audit-ready documentation, and Human Performance practices.
