    Position Title: Application Analyst Clerk Job Title: Application Analyst Clerk

    Reports to: Director of Compliance, Child Nutrition Pay Grade: N09 Terms of Employment:

    • 230 days per year.
    • At-Will employment agreement.
    • The salary is in pay grade N09 on the Non- Exempt SAISD Compensation Plan.
    • Entry hourly is $18.50 with consideration for directly related experience. FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Funding Source: This position is locally funded

    Position Summary

    Responsible for assisting in the attainment of district goals by ensuring the proper processing of transactions and applications that affects the reporting, compilation, and generation of data relating to the compliance and operational objectives of the Compliance division of the Child Nutrition Services Department.

    Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities

    1. Assist with preparation of meal application packet for parents.
    2. Assist with training of meal application data clerks on using application processing software
    3. Work with Homeless and Migrant liaisons and campus data clerks to identify and code students that qualify for free meals
    4. Assist cafeteria managers, principals and data clerks regarding students with no application on file
    5. Manually process applications and submit list of students qualified for Free & Reduced meals to Comptroller of Account and campus manager, as applies.
    6. Screen applications for completeness, Direct Certification, Homeless, Migrant or duplicate applications .
    7. Scan, validate, and QA all complete applications daily - review daily reporting to ensure all applications are submitted according to the current processes and procedures.
    8. Call parents regarding incomplete applications, temporary free approvals, and issues regarding eligibility and charging
    9. Assist individuals that come to the office and answer calls from parents, data clerks, principals, and cafeteria managers regarding paper applications as well as on-line applications.
    10. Maintain and assist with operation of office equipment/machines/software(s) as needed.
    11. Perform general office procedures including typing, filing, mail, duplication of materials, data processing/entry, editing and general bookkeeping/recordkeeping.
    12. Assist with processing department reports, documents, and meal counts as directed by administrator.
    13. Maintain general office files: save/store required documents per policy and administrative procedures. Created and maintain spreadsheets to document and track department init iatives.
    14. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

    Minimum Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or regional accrediting agency) or higher; and

    • 3+ years of full-time work-related experience, general knowledge of routine office procedures to include : o customer service, telephone etiquette, efficient and effective filing, data entry and record keeping procedures.

    • Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non -refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Proficiency by touch with ten-key calculator is required

    • Ability to recognize and analyze problems

    • Communication skills both oral and written

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and have a high level of integrity regarding department records.

    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with administrators, peers, teachers, auxiliary personnel, governmental entities, students and the public

    • Knowledge of Free and Reduced-Price meal application processing for the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs.

    • Ability to provide expertise and guidance in resolving system problems.

    • Basic computer skills

    • Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and federal policies .

    • Ability to use emerging technology tools and software to include Microsoft suites, Google Suites, Adobe, and various online platforms.

    Work Environment:

    • Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.
    • Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise. Occasional exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc .
