Bookkeeper – Apparel Wholesale Company
Salary: $60,000–$80,000 per year, depending on experience
We are an established apparel wholesale company seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team.
The ideal candidate must have prior accounting/bookkeeping experience specifically within the apparel wholesale industry and a strong understanding of the day-to-day financial processes involved in a wholesale business. QuickBooks experience is required, and NetSuite experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities
- Maintain accurate general ledger and financial records
- Handle Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R)
- Process customer payments, deposits, credits, and adjustments
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts
- Prepare and process vendor payments
- Monitor outstanding customer balances and assist with collections
- Review and reconcile customer deductions, chargebacks, credits, and returns
- Maintain accurate customer and vendor account records
- Assist with monthly and year-end closing procedures
- Reconcile sales, inventory-related transactions, and cost of goods sold
- Prepare financial reports and provide information to management as needed
- Work closely with management, sales, operations, and warehouse teams to resolve accounting discrepancies
- Maintain organized accounting documentation and records
- Assist outside accountants/CPAs with year-end reporting and other accounting needs
- Perform additional bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities as required
Qualifications
- Apparel wholesale accounting/bookkeeping experience is required
- QuickBooks experience is required
- NetSuite experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Experience working with wholesale customer accounts, deductions, returns, credits, and chargebacks
- Strong understanding of general bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other departments
Compensation & Benefits
- $60,000–$80,000 annual salary, depending on experience
