The Stanford Medicine Sutter Health Cancer Center is seeking a highly motivated, clinically exceptional Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing Surgical Oncology Program. This unique position offers the opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including a Hepatobiliary Surgeon and a Melanoma and Sarcoma Surgeon, while helping build and expand a new comprehensive cancer center scheduled to open in November 2026.
This APP will practice at the top of their license within a highly collaborative and autonomous environment, providing comprehensive care across the surgical continuum. Responsibilities will include first assisting in the operating room, outpatient clinic management, inpatient rounding and consultation, perioperative care coordination, and performance of office-based procedures. The APP will play a critical role in program development, patient experience, operational excellence, and the growth of surgical oncology services within the Cancer Center.

A Brief Overview
The Physician Assistant (PA) functions under this Physician Assistant Job Description approved by the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (IDPC). Specific functions pertaining to the Service, Clinic or Department are established by the PA and his/her supervising physician(s), and approved by the appropriate medical and nursing administrators, the IDPC, the Credentials & Privileges Committee, the Stanford Hospital and Clinics (SHC) Medical Executive Committee and the SHC Board Credentials, Policies and Procedures Committee.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $89.01 - $117.94 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
