Opportunity:
Physician Assistant - Neurosurgery
Job Details:
- Provide neurosurgical coverage with 10-hour (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM) or 12-hour (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) shifts
- Take 1 weeknight call and 1 weekend day per call week
- Work in clinic Monday through Friday with 1-2 MDs and 1 NP present, with additional APP support 1-2 times per week
- Patient appointments scheduled between 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with rounds required prior to clinic
- Cover inpatient neurosurgery with 12-hour shifts including nights and weekends (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
- Treat primarily adult patients (90%) with some pediatric cases (10%)
- Perform procedures including diagnostic/therapeutic taps, surgical care, suturing, EVD placement, lumbar drain, lumbar puncture, ICP monitor placement, and primary surgical care of complex wounds
- Work with support staff including 6 MDs, 1 RN, and 4 MAs
- Use Epic EMR/documentation system
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- Board certification in neurosurgery required
- SC state license, DEA, BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications required
