    Responsibilities:

    Position Summary

     

    The Manager – Advanced Practice Provider, Ambulatory delivers administrative and clinical leadership for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners within Oncology Services. In collaboration with the Director and Operations Manager, this role ensures high-quality patient care, effective staffing, regulatory compliance, and continuous professional development. The Manager provides clinical coverage as needed.

    Leadership & Administration

    • Supervise and manage PAs and APRNs
    • Oversee staffing, scheduling, payroll, and coverage
    • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management
    • Maintain compliance with credentialing, HIPAA, and regulatory standards
    • Develop and implement policies, quality measures, and improvement initiatives
    • Manage discretionary budgets and compensation alignment
    • Serve as liaison with Human Resources and hospital leadership
    • Represent the department at management and safety meetings

    Education & Development

    • Lead new hire orientation and training
    • Mentor and support professional development
    • Provide procedural training and supervision
    • Serve as preceptor for APP students
    • Promote continuing education opportunities

    Clinical Practice

    • Provide direct patient care as assigned
    • Conduct rounds, admissions, and discharge planning
    • Perform approved procedures within scope
    • Ensure accurate and compliant documentation

    Professional Responsibilities

    • Respond promptly to communications
    • Complete required training and certifications
    • Attend departmental meetings
    • Maintain professional conduct and appearance
    Qualifications:

    Education & Licensure

    • Master’s preferred, BSN or equivalent required
    • Graduate of accredited PA or APRN program
    • NCCPA (PA) or ANCC/approved NAPRNP certification
    • Valid Connecticut license, DEA, and controlled substance registration

    Experience

    • Minimum 2 years relevant experience 
    • Oncology experience required
    • Leadership or educational experience preferred

    Skills

    • Strong clinical and leadership abilities
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
