Opportunity:
Nurse Practitioner - Hematology/Oncology
Job Details:
- Inpatient Hematology/Oncology APP (PA or NP) position
- Day shift schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Full-time coverage needed with 11-16 patients per day
- Treat patients of all ages within a 686-bed hospital department
- EMR system: Epic (experience required)
- Must be comfortable working in an unsupervised setting on solid tumor patients
- Experience with benign and malignant hematology patients is required
- APP support available during daytime hours on both hematology and oncology inpatient services
- No call requirements; no weekend coverage expected
- Knowledge around bone marrow practice is helpful but highly specialized experience is not required
- Two APP positions available: one focused on Oncology and one with a strong Hematology focus
- Clinic responsibilities include cycle 1 day 1 chemotherapy overviews, ongoing chemotherapy visits, and survivorship visits
- Inpatient responsibilities include initial consults, ongoing patient care, and discharge execution
- Provide Hypersensitivity Reaction supervision and triage support/medical record in-basket support
- Same-day documentation expected for inpatient services; outpatient documentation required within 3 days maximum
- Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Minnesota state license required; DEA not required
- Board Certification as PA or APP required
