Physician Assistant - Specialized - 1025F Forsyth Intensivist

Job Details:

• Work as an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in a multi-specialty medical-surgical community hospital ICU
• 
  
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts
• 
  
• Manage critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting with a typical APP to patient ratio of 10-15 ICU patients per APP, with attending MD also available
• 
  
• Collaborate with attending physicians to develop plans of care and communicate dynamic changes throughout each shift
• 
  
• Conduct ongoing patient assessments and implement appropriate interventions
• 
  
• Perform order entry using Cerner EMR and complete thorough documentation including History and Physicals, Consultations, Event/Follow-up Notes, and Procedure Notes
• 
  
• Interpret diagnostic testing and communicate findings with ICU nursing staff
• 
  
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds each shift
• 
  
• Perform invasive procedures including central line insertions (CVLs, vascaths, and introducers) and arterial line insertions
• 
  
• If NP candidate, must be Acute Care Certified
• 
  
• Must hold valid national and state licensure as an ACNP or PA
• 
  
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in an ICU setting required
• 
  
• Proficiency with ICU procedures, specifically central and arterial line insertions, is required
