Opportunity:
Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Cardiothoracic
Job Details:
- Locum Nurse Practitioner position in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery
- Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with floor call/beeper coverage from 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Saturday and Sunday 24-hour onsite support with floor call or OR call
- In-house and beeper/phone call coverage required when on assignment
- Inpatient/hospital-based practice setting serving adult and geriatric patient populations
- Average of 20-26 patients per day in a Level 2 Trauma designated facility
- Post-operative care for all types of cardiothoracic and vascular patients
- Perform emergency surgery on cardiothoracic and vascular patients
- Take consults and referrals from the Emergency Department, Cath Lab, and all hospital providers
- Assist in surgery including vein harvesting and retrieval of vascular tissues for use as a bypass conduit
- Additional duties include writing prescriptions, coordination of care, rounding, interpreting tests, and ordering tests
- EMR: Epic
- May be required to supervise or teach
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgery services required
- Board certification in Vascular Surgery required
- Active Ohio license required (providers who need to obtain will not be accepted)
- Active ACLS and DEA required
- Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required
