Opportunity:
Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Cardiothoracic
Job Details:
- Full-time cardiothoracic surgery coverage with Monday through Friday schedule plus call duties
- Call responsibilities include 1-2 weekdays and weekends with night call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Work setting split between office/clinic (5%) and hospital (95%)
- Manage 5-10 hospital patients per day with 0-3 admissions and 2-7 ICU patients
- Assist with 1-2 surgeries per day requiring OR experience
- Adult patient population (100%)
- Required procedures include general cardiovascular/thoracic surgery, coronary artery bypass surgery on pump, and valvular repair/replacement
- Preferred procedures include aneurysm repair, lung resection including VATS, chest wall procedures, and LVAD management
- Responsible for ventilation management, evaluation of acute volume/BP issues, and central line insertion
- Must provide comprehensive care including OR assistance, patient rounding, and clinic support
- Work with support staff including RN navigators and medical assistants
- Utilize EPIC electronic medical record system
- Assignment duration of 6-9 months with immediate start upon credentialing
