Opportunity:
Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Cardiothoracic
Job Details:
- Inpatient only practice setting
- 8-hour day shifts Monday through Friday with potential call and 24-hour shifts
- Work autonomously without supervising physician present during assignment
- Average of 10 patients per day
- EMR system: EPIC
- Level 1 Trauma facility
- Patient age demographic includes adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
- Required duties include pre-op physical exams, suture removal, diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, assisting in surgery, writing prescriptions, coordination of care, and rounding
- Required procedures include placement of central venous and dialysis catheters, placement of arterial lines and intra-aortic balloon pumps, and endoscopic retrieval
- Must be able to cover two sites within a 35-mile distance of each other
- Must be a local provider - only mileage reimbursed at standard IRS rate
- Board Certified NCCPA required
- Connecticut license in hand at time of submission required
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- EPIC experience preferred
- No new graduates
