Opportunity:

Physician Assistant - Surgery Cardiothoracic

Job Details:

• Provide coverage 4 days per month, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM plus overnight beeper call from 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 
  
• Practice setting is a hospital-based cardiothoracic surgery department
• 
  
• Work alongside a supervising surgeon in the CT Surgery department
• 
  
• Manage 10 to 15 CVICU and step-down patients per day, plus assist with 1 to 2 surgeries daily
• 
  
• Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients
• 
  
• Utilize Cerner EMR system
• 
  
• Perform special procedures including temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and arterial line placement
• 
  
• Must be proficient with endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH)
• 
  
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery with EVH required
• 
  
• Board certification as a Physician Assistant required
• 
  
• Active Arizona PA license required or must be eligible and able to provide proof of application
• 
  
• DEA license required
• 
  
• ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association) certification required
