Role Summary
- We are seeking a highly experienced Senior QA Automation Analyst / QA Automation Lead with 10+ years of overall Quality Assurance experience, strong hands-on API testing expertise, and extensive experience designing and maintaining automation using Playwright. The candidate should be able to independently collaborate with product, development, architecture, DevOps, business, and operations teams to deliver high-quality releases and proactively identify opportunities for automation across applications, APIs, workflows, and regression suites.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business and technical requirements and convert them into clear test strategies, test scenarios, test cases, and automation candidates.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, system, end-to-end, API, and user acceptance testing as required by the project.
- Design, build, enhance, and maintain scalable Playwright automation frameworks for UI, API, and end-to-end workflow validation.
- Develop reusable automation components, utilities, fixtures, test data handling methods, and reporting practices.
- Conduct extensive REST API testing, including request/response validation, authentication, payload validation, negative testing, error handling, and integration checks.
- Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines and source control practices.
- Work independently with cross-functional teams to understand quality risks, test coverage gaps, and automation opportunities.
- Identify manual testing areas that can be automated and define a practical automation roadmap for faster and more reliable releases.
- Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to troubleshoot defects, analyze logs, validate fixes, and support release readiness.
- Mentor junior QA team members and promote quality engineering best practices across the team.
Required Skills
- Skill Area / Requirement
- QA Experience 10+ years overall experience in QA, Quality Engineering, test planning, execution, defect management, and release validation.
- Playwright Automation Extensive hands-on experience with Playwright for UI and/or API automation. Ability to design, maintain, and scale automation frameworks.
- API Testing Strong REST API testing experience using tools such as Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, REST clients, and automated API validation approaches.
- Programming / Scripting Strong hands-on experience with Playwright using TypeScript or JavaScript. Java-based automation experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Automation Strategy Ability to identify automation opportunities, prioritize high-value scenarios, and reduce manual regression effort through reusable automation.
- CI/CD & Source Control Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent platforms.
- Database Validation Good SQL knowledge for backend/data validation, including queries, joins, and data verification across systems.
- Agile Delivery Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with developers, product owners, business analysts, architects, and DevOps engineers.
- Communication Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to work independently across distributed teams.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience testing microservices, event-driven systems.
- Exposure to performance testing, service virtualization, API mocking, or contract testing.
- Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, retail, service management, or enterprise IT applications.
