Title: API Developer Cloud & DevOps
Location: San Antonio, TX
Duration: 6 months
Pay Range: $40 - $44/Hour on W2/C2C (All inclusive)
We are seeking an experienced Senior API Developer with strong expertise in API development, microservices, CI/CD, containerization, and cloud-based deployments. The candidate will be responsible for developing, deploying, supporting, and maintaining APIs and containerized applications across Azure, AWS, and/or GCP environments.
The role requires strong production support capabilities, troubleshooting skills, and hands-on experience with DevOps automation tools. The candidate should be comfortable working independently on production maintenance, container vulnerabilities, certificate rotations, and return-to-service activities while adhering to enterprise security policies and controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Develop scalable and secure API solutions for enterprise applications.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Work with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and/or GCP.
- Automate infrastructure and deployment processes using Terraform and Ansible.
- Use Git for source control and support modern software development workflows.
- Monitor applications, APIs, and infrastructure using tools such as Splunk.
- Provide dedicated support for test and production environments.
- Troubleshoot application, API, container, deployment, and infrastructure issues and restore services within defined timelines.
- Independently identify and remediate container vulnerabilities and security-related issues.
- Perform SSL/TLS certificate rotations and other production maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure APIs and deployments comply with security policies, procedures, standards, and controls.
- Participate in production releases, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain technical documentation for APIs, deployments, operational procedures, and troubleshooting activities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 8 10 years of experience in API development, software engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, or related areas.
- Strong hands-on experience with API development, CI/CD, containers, and cloud deployments.
- Experience supporting test and production environments.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage production support responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of enterprise security practices and operational controls.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
