We are seeking an experienced and hands-on API Architect to join the Data API Platform framework team. In this role, you will lead the architecture, design, and continuous enhancement of common tooling, frameworks, and foundational services supporting a large-scale fleet of 400 enterprise APIs.
This is a high-impact, self-starter role requiring active development and end-to-end technical leadership to ensure high scalability, reliability, and security across the entire API ecosystem.
Architectural Leadership & Development: Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade microservices and core platform frameworks using Java and Spring Boot.
Platform Tooling & Standardization: Build and maintain reusable tools and common libraries to standardize and streamline operations across 400 enterprise APIs.
Cloud & Container Infrastructure: Architect, containerize, and deploy scalable solutions on AWS using Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
Event-Driven & Backend Systems: Design and maintain high-throughput backend services and streaming pipelines utilizing Kafka, Hibernate, and modern API protocols (REST, Web API, gRPC, GraphQL).
Security & Vulnerability Management: Continuously analyze, monitor, and resolve system vulnerabilities, ensuring robust application performance, scalability, and security at all layers.
Mentorship & Governance: Establish and enforce design patterns, coding standards, and best practices while mentoring development teams to foster technical excellence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders across multiple lines of business within an Agile environment.
15 years of hands-on software development experience with extensive background in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Microservices architecture.
10 years of experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting large-scale, complex distributed systems with deep object-oriented design expertise.
5 years of technical leadership experience mentoring engineering teams while remaining an active, hands-on individual contributor.
3 years of experience with streaming and messaging technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD automation pipelines.
Deep proficiency with Hibernate or equivalent ORM frameworks.
Experience with API development and testing tools such as IntelliJ/Eclipse, Postman, Git, and Cucumber.
Working knowledge of modern API paradigms including REST, JSON, Web API, gRPC, and GraphQL.
Solid background in Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and architectural design patterns.
Multi-cloud proficiency (experience with Azure alongside AWS).
Front-end development exposure with React.js, Node.js, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
Experience working in financial services or large enterprise platform environments.
