Are you an experienced Occupancy Specialist with a strong background in Affordable Housing and Accounts Receivable? We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to join a growing apartment community team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is knowledgeable in HUD and/or Tax Credit programs and enjoys keeping resident files accurate while maintaining excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Process annual and interim resident recertifications in accordance with HUD and/or LIHTC guidelines.
- Maintain accurate resident files and ensure compliance with all affordable housing regulations.
- Collect rent and manage accounts receivable, including posting payments, monitoring delinquent accounts, and following up on outstanding balances.
- Prepare notices and communicate with residents regarding rent payments and account status.
- Assist with move-ins, move-outs, lease renewals, and resident inquiries.
- Work closely with the property management team to ensure occupancy goals and compliance standards are met.
- Utilize property management software to maintain resident and financial records.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Occupancy Specialist in affordable housing.
- Knowledge of HUD, Tax Credit (LIHTC), Section 8, or other affordable housing programs.
- Accounts receivable and rent collection experience required.
- Experience with property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, Entrata, MRI, or similar.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
