BG Staffing is currently hiring an Apartment Maintenance Technician for a residential apartment community in Newark, NJ (07104). We are seeking a dependable, hardworking individual who is ready to step in and assist with day-to-day maintenance operations, unit turns, and resident service requests.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on maintenance experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in keeping a property operating smoothly. Candidates who are bilingual in Spanish and English are highly preferred, as this role involves interacting with a diverse resident community and property staff.

Position Overview

As an Apartment Maintenance Technician, you will support the maintenance team by completing service requests, assisting with apartment turnovers, and performing general repairs throughout the community. The ideal candidate is proactive, reliable, and capable of delivering quality work while maintaining a professional attitude.

Schedule & Pay

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• $22.00 per hour
• Weekly pay through BG Staffing

Job Duties

• Complete routine maintenance work orders in a timely manner
• Perform basic plumbing repairs and troubleshooting
• Assist with apartment unit turns and make-readies
• Replace fixtures, hardware, and other apartment components as needed
• Support painting, touch-up work, and general property upkeep
• Inspect units and common areas for maintenance concerns
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents
• Communicate professionally with residents, vendors, and site staff
• Follow all community safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Previous apartment maintenance experience preferred
• Knowledge of basic plumbing and general maintenance repairs
• Experience assisting with unit turns and apartment make-readies
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to lift, carry, and move maintenance materials and equipment as needed
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
• Dependable attendance and punctuality required
