AP Specialist

Overview

Join our dynamic accounting team in Tucson, AZ, in a temporary position that offers a fast-paced and high-volume work environment. This role is perfect for individuals who excel in processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and supporting daily accounting operations with precision and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of accounts payable invoices with accuracy and efficiency.
• Review invoices for correct coding, approvals, purchase orders, and supporting documentation.
• Perform invoice matching and investigate discrepancies.
• Enter invoices and related information into the ERP/accounting system.
• Maintain accurate vendor records and address vendor inquiries promptly.
• Conduct vendor account reconciliations and resolve outstanding balances.
• Assist with accounts receivable tasks, including invoicing, cash application, account reconciliation, and payment tracking.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collection follow-up as needed.
• Research and resolve discrepancies in AP/AR transactions.
• Support month-end closing and account reconciliation activities.
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, Sales, and other departments to resolve accounting issues.
• Ensure transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
• Perform additional accounting duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or general accounting.
• Strong experience with high-volume invoice processing.
• Understanding of AP/AR processes and account reconciliation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using an ERP or accounting system.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with purchase orders and 3-way matching.
• Background in manufacturing, mining, construction, or other industrial sectors is a plus.
