AP Specialist

Location: SLC, UT 84116
Pay: $20–$25 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | 1st Shift

About the Position

Smart Staffing is currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized AP/AR Assistant to join our client’s accounting team in Salt Lake City.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build or grow their experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting support. The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable working with numbers and records, and has a strong eye for accuracy.

What You'll Do

• Verify and process billing invoices to ensure customer accounts are accurate and complete
• Maintain and review field-transmitted invoice reports and activity logs
• Process company receipts and special transactions, including NSF checks and escrow items
• Assist field staff with billing and processing questions
• Maintain organized records and documentation for daily processing and audit purposes
• Prepare and process monthly customer statements
• Support the Accounts Receivable team during periods of increased workload
• Help identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency
• Perform general clerical and administrative duties as assigned by the department manager

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0–2 years of experience in accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bookkeeping, or a related field
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Organized and dependable
• Comfortable working with numbers, records, and computer systems
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
