Client: Leading E-Commerce/Marketplace Seller
Title: Accounts Payable Supervisor

Role Description
This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-paced, private equity backed, leading third party marketplace seller that has been growing rapidly and is expanding into new categories and service offerings to create longer term value. The Accounts Payable Manager is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements in compliance with company policies and accounting standards. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice handling, payment processing, vendor maintenance, and expense reimbursements.
  • Develop and maintain AP policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Oversee vendor setup and maintain changes, ensuring compliance with policies and tax requirements, such as W-9s and 1099 reporting.
  • Review and approve payment runs (ACH, wire, check, credit card) while ensuring proper approvals, maintaining strong internal controls, and preventing fraud.
  • Partner with Buying and Operations teams to resolve invoice discrepancies, pricing issues, and purchase order 3-way match variances.
  • Monitor AP aging, prevent past-due balances, & manage vendor relationships to avoid disruption.
  • Partner with Accounting & Finance on cash disbursement timing and support planning needs.
  • Identify, implement, and optimize AP systems, workflows, and automation opportunities (e.g., ERP, OCR, invoice workflow tools).
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency through standardization, automation, and better use of ERP tools and payment platforms.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to AP and accrued expenses.
  • Support audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounts payable or accounting experience in retail or CPG environment
  • 2+ years of people management or team leadership experience
  • Experience with Netsuite or other ERP systems a plus
  • Intermediate Excel skills; (vlookup/xlookup, formulas, pivot tables, reconciliations)
  • Strong knowledge of AP processes, internal controls, and accounting principles
  • Possesses a sense of urgency, with the ability to be flexible, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and drive.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and able to interact with vendors & cross-functional partners
