As a physician-led and physician-owned medical group, Northwest Permanente offers a collaborative practice environment where physicians focus on patient care rather than volume-based compensation.

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pathologist to join our highly collaborative pathology team in the Portland metropolitan area. This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside 16 Pathologists, 6 Pathologists' Assistants, and 4 PhDs in a high-volume, academically engaged practice serving a large and diverse patient population.

Position Highlights

Responsibilities include:

  • General surgical pathology
  • Frozen section interpretation
  • Rapid on-site cytology evaluation (ROSE)
  • Shared call coverage
  • Participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards
  • Laboratory leadership and administrative responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • AP/CP Board-Certified or Board-Eligible
  • Strong diagnostic skills in general surgical pathology
  • Cytology experience welcomed but not required
  • Ability to provide pathology services across two hospitals and a regional laboratory
  • Commitment to maintaining current knowledge in surgical pathology and molecular diagnostic techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary Range: $362,900 - $442,500

Compensation is determined by experience, training, certifications, market factors, and other relevant qualifications.

Total Rewards Value: $449,400 - $585,900
