Reading Interventionist West Springfield Middle School
The Reading Interventionist is responsible for supporting student achievement in the area of English Language Arts, with special attention to reading. The interventionist provides individual or small group instruction to students who are struggling academically. This position is also responsible for monitoring, reporting, and communicating student progress and performance.
DUTIES:
QUALIFICATIONS: Hold MA DESE licensure as Reading Specialist Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university (Master's degree preferred) Ability to promote equitable access for all students Expertise with new literacies of online research and comprehension.
PREFERRED: Demonstrates proficiency in the area of MTSS practices Demonstrates a sound understanding of implementing evidence-based interventions Demonstrates an understanding and use of equitable and culturally responsive practices Demonstrated ability and proven experience in developing and implementing professional development
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to apply instructional strategies on differentiation Strong organizational skills Knowledge of collaboration practices, team teaching practices, and special education Ability to collect data and make course placement recommendation for students Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with school administrators, staff, students, and families
Salary: Per Unit A Contract (salary range: $53,939.00 - $100,108.00)
