Description: Burlington Township is looking for a passionate and dedicated assistant superintendent to join our progressive, student-centered learning environment and work collaboratively with the Superintendent of Schools to provide the highest educational leadership, resourcefulness and integrity resulting in the most creative and productive educational programs and services for all students. This position will have a major responsibility for implementing and monitoring the District's instructional and special education programs specifically in Preschool and Primary grades and will have a high degree of visibility in the schools and classrooms. This position will oversee those areas of extracurricular activities which interface directly with the instructional programs. This positions will oversee some departments on a K-12 basis as directed annually by the Superintendent of Schools. These areas of supervision are part of these expectations for this position. Specifically, this position will render technical and/or administrative assistance to the Superintendent of Schools and other district administrators in the areas of all aspects of education programs and support at the assigned grade levels. This position will participate in district level curricular and administrative meetings by ensuring the coordination between the general education programming and the special education programming to deliver the best continuity and program to our students while supporting our staff.

Job Requirements: (Job description)

  • A master's degree from an accredited graduate program in education, pupil student personnel or educational administration, or other appropriate

discipline.

  • A valid New Jersey Certificate as a School Administrator or Certificate of Eligibility.
  • At least five (5) years successful teaching experience and three (3) years successful administrative experience, preferred.
  • Experience in curriculum and educational programming, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Knowledge and experience with special education law, services, and requirements.
  • Such alternatives to the above requirements as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
