As an Ansible Automation Engineer, you will develop and maintain enterprise automation solutions that improve infrastructure consistency, security, and operational efficiency across cloud and on-premises environments. Working closely with cloud engineers, cybersecurity teams, and system administrators, you will automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployments, and operational workflows that support enterprise modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and reusable automation workflows.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, system configuration, patching, software deployments, and routine operational tasks across Linux, Windows, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Administer and support Ansible Automation Platform (Automation Controller/Tower), including inventories, credentials, job templates, and workflows.
  • Integrate Ansible automation with AWS, Azure, VMware, Active Directory, ServiceNow, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, or similar technologies.
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab, or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to automate system hardening, configuration compliance, patch management, and security remediation.
  • Troubleshoot automation failures, configuration drift, and infrastructure issues while continuously improving automation reliability.
  • Develop technical documentation, automation standards, and operational procedures.
  • Work with engineering and operations teams to identify and automate manual processes that improve efficiency and consistency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in systems engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure automation.
  • Hands-on experience developing and supporting automation using Ansible.
  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows administration.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, or similar).
  • Experience with AWS and familiarity with Azure or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with scripting using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation or RHCE.
  • AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud certification.
  • Security+, CISSP, or other cybersecurity certification.
  • Experience supporting the U.S. Department of State or other federal agencies.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, VMware, or ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with NIST RMF, FISMA, FedRAMP, and DevSecOps practices.

Clearance Requirement

  • Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance required.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position represents Acuity's good faith estimate of the compensation for this job title at the time of posting.
